Compliance
We trade clean. Here's exactly how.
Mavericks works between governments, companies and people across Europe, the UK and Central Asia. That only works if everyone can trust who is in the room. This page sets out how we make sure of it.
1. Our commitment
We comply with the sanctions, anti-money-laundering and anti-bribery laws of every country we work in. Where rules differ, we follow the stricter one.
2. Who we screen, and when
Every client, partner, exhibitor, sponsor and speaker. We screen before we sign anything, and again whenever ownership, activity or the sanctions lists change.
3. The lists we check
- The EU Consolidated Financial Sanctions List
- The UK Sanctions List (OFSI)
- The UN Security Council Consolidated List
4. Knowing who we deal with
We confirm identity, company registration and who ultimately owns or controls a business. We may ask for documents, and we may ask again.
5. Closer checks
Some countries, sectors, ownership structures and payment routes get extra review before we go ahead.
6. Working with governments
No gifts, payments or favours to officials. We follow the lobbying, transparency and anti-bribery rules of each country, and we keep records of our contact with public bodies.
7. What we refuse
- Anyone on a sanctions list
- Any deal designed to get around sanctions
- Anyone who won't tell us who they are or who owns them
- Countries under comprehensive EU sanctions
8. Our partners meet the same standard
Every law firm and provider we work with is held to these rules. Legal work is handled by regulated partner law firms in every country we cover.
9. Report a concern
Email compliance@mavericksintown.com. We treat every report confidentially and reply within five working days.
Questions about how we work? Book a call and we'll call you.

Everyone at The Crossing is screened. That's why the room is worth being in.
